Oak Alley holds a special place in my heart. It is more than just a historic antebellum home with Greek Revival architecture on the sprawling Mississippi riverside crowned with beautiful rows of 300 year old oak trees. It was a home my great great great grandfather Joseph Pilie', the same name my grandfather and father hold, designed for his daughter Marie Therese Josephine Celina Pilié and her husband Jacques Télesphore Roman.
Joseph Pilie' is also know as the surveyor who surveyed Algiers Point as well as designed the fence that surrounds Jackson Square.
The latest painting from the Cainfields Series plays a pivotol role in the upcoming novel.
There is a part to all of us that we wish to cover and hide. It is our shadow. This collection of work is a peak behind the facade for a view of the shadow.
