Favorite Music and Top Twenty
There are so many top ten or top twenty music countdowns or music analysis channels on the internet. I love them. There are also reaction videos by individuals on YouTube that are also amusing as people listen to albums they have not heard before and react to them in real time. What is it that is so interesting about these? I think it is the connection that music brings to us all. Music is not only the experience between the composer and the consumer but it is the connection that we with each other while exploring and experiencing music together.
To begin my exploration of my experiences with music on this website, I wanted to mentioned that music is a universal language. It is like math. If you listen to music with someone that you do not share the same language with, you will both experience the music together. It may draw similar emotions and thoughts. What is interesting is the different ways both people experience it.
The intent with the posts about music in this blog is to share my experience with the songs, albums, artists, genres, videos, concerts, etc. This effort will be much more exciting if you would be willing to share your experiences. Some of these experiences will require a small investment of your time to listen to something and share. Through these experiences and interactions, we can hopefully connect with something greater than ourselves.
Here are some of the categories and how I will share them:
Top Twenty Albums (Tag T20AL) – this will list out the top twenty albums of my favorite artists that had the biggest impact on me as a person from my youth through to adulthood. This list may not be my favorite album from a particular artist, albums that include my favorite songs, or maybe in my Top Twenty artists. I have created a rule that I can not have two of the same artist in the top 20
Top Twenty Songs (Tag T20S) – this list will include the top twenty songs from my favorite artists that had the biggest impact on me as a person from my youth through to adulthood.
Top Twenty Artists (Tag T20AR) – this list will include the top twenty artists that had the biggest impact on me as a person from my youth through to adulthood.
Top Twenty Performances (Tag T20P) – this will be the list of performances by artists that had the biggest impact on me throughout my life.
